Since none of the reviews on Amazon's page are for this actual box set, I wanted to add one for anyone interested. I have been a huge Laura Nyro fan for about 16 years and I was happy to learn about this collection. I have listened to all of her albums countless times and it is nice to have the opportunity to own them all on vinyl in this nice set.It is housed in a high quality box, and the album covers all have a matte finish which gives them a premium feel. A couple of them also forego the original record sleeves (which had the lyrics and artwork on them) and replace them with high quality lined inner sleeves. The lyrics and artwork on those albums are still included as, posters which I think is a great idea and will ensure that everything lasts for a long time. I have original copies of Smile and Nested and those sleeves are a bit fragile. My only real issue with these reissues is that the center label on the albums say Madfish instead of using a reproduction of the original Columbia labels. I would have definitely preferred the retro look for the center labels. It is disappointing that it is missing the live album Seasons of Light, as well as Laura's final albums Mother's Spiritual and Walk the Dog and Light the Light (Mother's Spiritual is one of my favorites, and Walk the Dog and Light the Light has never had a vinyl release as far as I know), but what you do get is substantial and the included book is a great look into Laura's life.I read her biography years ago and I think that the booklet does just a good a job at capturing Laura's personality, her struggles, and showing how her music reflected where she was in life at the time. It is amazing to think that she was able to accomplish so much at such a young age.The bonus disc is pretty much a compilation of the additional songs that were included in the more recent CD reissues of her albums, but I am happy that they are included in a separate disc so that the albums are kept in their original form.I've only had a chance to listen to More Than a New Discovery so far and I think that it sounds great. I look forward to giving the other albums a listen. I hope one day down the line there is a COMPLETE release of all of her music including live albums, demos, radio broadcasts, and Angel in the Dark in one huge collection. This is a lovely set to own and if you have a chance to pick it up definitely consider it. Laura Nyro never got enough recognition during her lifetime and I think that the more people who can learn about and appreciate her beautiful music the better.
