Ok, right here at the start I have to say that I'm a designer and artist and have no background in philosophy.This book was recommended to me for it's typography, and I was not disappointed with the inventive and playful layouts. In fact I've lent out my copy which was kept, so now am looking to replace it.But here's the thing: to truly love a work of typographic art I need to be able to understand the context at least a little. Reading this book was not so great. I'm an educated person, but the inside references and jargon left me far behind. Eventually, it became a bit of a game to open this book to a random page and read it to my friends. We could never make heads or tails.But yeah, ok, I want to find a copy because the treatment is awesome. Do I really need a masters in arcana to get the full effect?
